Account

Your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google or add it to your profile.

Meal scans

Photos you capture or import, or descriptions you type, to scan a meal. This includes the AI-generated analysis (dish, ingredients, macros, blood sugar/glycemic response).

Body & activity data

Weight, height, age, sex, and activity level you optionally provide to calculate your calorie target and match scans against your macro and blood sugar charts.

Calendar, streaks & usage

Which meals you log and when, your day-by-day calendar and streak progress toward meal-plan rewards, and your AI usage, so we can run the app and show you your history.

Camera

Used only when you tap the scan button. We never access it in the background.

Photo library

Accessed only to import photos you explicitly select.

AI analysis

Meal photos, descriptions, and body inputs are sent to third-party AI providers, including Google's Gemini API, to generate nutrition/blood-sugar breakdowns and meal preparations. They process this data to return results to us and do not use it to train their models.

Sync your data

Your scans, plans, and streaks are stored so you can access them across sessions and devices.

We do not sell your data

We never sell your photos, body data, or usage history, or share them with third parties for advertising.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a scan or your account, that data is permanently removed from our servers rather than kept in the background.

Permanent deletion

Deleting a scan or your account permanently removes the data from our servers, from your account page.

Access & correction

You can review and correct most of your data directly in the app. For anything you can't edit yourself, contact us and we'll assist.

Data portability

You can request a copy of your data in a portable format by contacting us.

Regional privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your data (for example, under the CCPA in California). Contact us to exercise these rights.

Where your data is processed

Your data may be processed and stored in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your own.

Username pages

If you set a username, some scans and plans may be viewable at a public link under that username instead of your email or full name.

Updates

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of BurnSnacks after changes means you accept the new policy.
